A COLLEGE will welcome a new principal later this year.
The Governors of Hartlepool Sixth Form College have appointed Alex Fau-Goodwin, who is currently the vice principal at South Cheshire College, in Crewe.
College chairman Jonathan Brash said: “I am delighted to be appointing a person of Alex’s talent, drive and ambition, and I know he will be an invaluable asset to our college as we continue to strive towards the academic excellence for which the college is deservedly known.
“Alex will be taking up his new post in September, but over the next few months he will be working closely with our acting principal Carole Horseman to ensure a smooth transition.”
Mr Fau-Goodwin said: “I am excited and privileged to be appointed principal of such a high-achieving sixth form college. I look forward to working with staff, students, governors and parents in not only sustaining excellence, but also in ensuring the college is able to face future challenges with confidence.
“I firmly believe that high-performing colleges, such as Hartlepool Sixth Form College, provide the best opportunities in terms of education, social and moral development, so that students can emerge as confident young adults, ready to face a challenging and often uncertain world.”
