EXCITED pupils are looking forward to this summer’s London Olympics following the arrival of a replica torch.

Children at Clavering Primary School, in Hartlepool, received the realistic model as the town’s primary schools take part in their own torch relay.

The replica was made by engineering students at St Hild’s Church of England School and is being used by schools to aid their learning of the sporting spectacle.

It is spending a week in each school in the run up to the games in July and August before passing it on to one of their neighbours.

Pupils will take part in a mini Olypic Games at St Hild’s School after half term.

So far the torch has visited St Bega’s Primary, on the Headland, before continuing its journey to West View Primary School.
