They topped it off with a host of traditional activities when the school was decked out in the red, white and blue of the Union flag.

They enjoyed a street party, Punch and Judy shows and games on the sports field.

Headteacher Helen O’Brien said: “In assemblies we have been discussing the relevance of the jubilee and the Royal Family.

“The party went really well and was thoroughly enjoyed by all children and staff.

“We had all the bunting and flags out and they children also came dressed in red, white and blue.”

A raffle was held with board games as prizes.

Money raised will go to the British Heart Foundation and British Red Cross charities.

Youngsters from the whole school, including reception and nursery classes, joined in the fun and games.

To commemorate the Jubilee all staff and children received a souvenir leather bookmark.
