School secures its third gold award

A Hartlepool school is celebrating after being honoured with an award for the third year in a row.

St Aidan’s C of E Memorial Primary School have received Sainsbury’s School Games Award Gold Standard.

A spokesperson for the school said the children have worked hard to achieve the award for a third consecutive year and are delighted with the outcome.

The criteria to receive the honour includes children attending extra-curricular sporting activities, a minimum of two hours curriculum PE each week, support for gifted and talented pupils, pupils involved in running PE and Sport activities, a curriculum that includes all children, an extensive range of sporting competitions both intra (in school) and inter (against other schools).

Mr Murray PE and Sports coach at St Aidan’s said he is extremely proud of all the pupils’ achievements this year.
