A CAST of talented pupils have been wowing audiences with a slick production of the stage classic Grease.
Around 40 students from High Tunstall College of Science, in Elwick Road, Hartlepool, have been preparing to perform their spectacular all-singing and dancing show for over five months.
And after learning lines, songs and dance moves in dozens of dress rehearsals, their efforts have been rewarded with standing ovations from the crowds that have watched them so far.
They have one final performance in front of friends and family tonight, after delighting relatives last night and also hundreds of primary school pupils who got the chance to watch the show on Tuesday and yesterday.
The cast’s proud director, music teacher Danielle Bainbridge, said: “They’ve all done absolutely brilliantly.
“They’ve come on so much and they’re all so close now even though this time the cast is from a real diverse mix of friendship groups.
“What they’ve achieved is just excellent. They’ve worked so hard and have been so determined that each show they perform they’re just getting better and better.
“They got a standing ovation on Tuesday night and everyone in the crowd has been laughing and cheering. It’s been great.”
She added: “All the students and staff involved have had a great time and the kids have even started talking to each other in their character names even when they’re not performing!”
The students involved are aged between 11 and 16-years-old. They auditioned for the show in January, and started rehearsals in February.
