VIDEO: St Hild’s head happy with GCSE results

THERE were lots of smiles on students faces as they ripped open their results at St Hild’s Church of England School in Hartlepool.

The school’s pass rate of pupils achieving five or more A* to C grades in all subjects jumped 10 per cent on last year to 83 per cent.

But the rate for pupils getting the same grades with English and maths was lower at 45 per cent.

Naomi Conlin, 16, of Clavering, Hartlepool, was the school’s joint second highest performer with five A*s, three As, two Bs, plus a pass in PE and distinction in art and design.
