IT was all sunshine and smiles for a super afternoon of sport at a Hartlepool school.
Over 100 youngsters from West Park Primary School, in the town’s Coniscliffe Road, had fun in the sun at their annual sports day.
Javelin throwing, bean-bag hurling, sack, running, and egg and spoon races were enjoyed by pupils from the infant section of the school – from ages four to six-years-old.
Parents crowded onto the school field to watch their mini sportsmen and women join in the event.
Head teacher Mark Parry said: “We had a variety of activities going on at sports day including a number of athletic events, and running and obstacle competitions.
“It was a beautiful afternoon and there were plenty of parents there to watch. It’s one of our main events of the year and it’s always very well supported.”
He added: “The kids all had a great time, they thoroughly enjoyed it. They were very well behaved and it was a very good afternoon. They did themselves proud.”
