A Hartlepool school was caught out cold when a broken boiler led to pupils being sent home.
Youngsters at Stranton Primary School had to leave the classroom after the boiler fault this morning.
The school is now working to repair the heating fault.
A Hartlepool Borough Council spokesman confirmed that efforts are underway to restore heating to the Southburn Terrace school.
But it is not yet known if the school will be able to open in time for lessons tomorrow.
