A TV soap star has made a final call for Hartlepool women to take a walk for charity.
Natalie Anderson, star of ITV’s Emmerdale, has thrown her weight behind Hartlepool & District Hospice’s Moonlight Walk which is taking place on Saturday.
Natalie makes regular trips to Hartlepool from her home in Yorkshire to visit her dad Tony, who lives at the marina, and knows all about the work the hospice does.
Natalie, 31, said: “The hospice is a great cause, and I would encourage people to back the Moonlight Walk to help raise more cash.
“I’m often in Hartlepool to see my dad, and I know how much hard work goes into keeping the facility going.
“Events like this are vital, and I wish everyone taking part all the very best on Saturday.”
Tony is delighted to see his daughter backing the hospice, and added: “The hospice is a vital facility in Hartlepool and events like the Moonlight Walk keep it running.
“A friend of mine, Willie Wright, was in the hospice before he lost his fight with cancer earlier this year and the care he was given was amazing.”
The Moonlight Walk is around five and a half miles long, although a shorter route is also available.
The walk will leave Hartlepool Maritime Experience at 8pm and head down to Seaton Carew Golf Club.
Everyone taking part in the event – which is predominantly female – will receive a medal, T-shirt and hot supper.
