THE last in a new series of walks at RSPB Saltholme takes place this weekend.
People are being offered the chance to find out more about the wildlife reserve and the work they do for the introductory tour on Sunday.
The monthly walks which launched in February have proved popular with healthy numbers going along.
Sunday’s walk will take place at 12.30pm and lasts around three hours as it takes visitors to areas previously out of bounds to the public.
Staff and volunteers will show people all the reserve’s best bird hides and trails to follow.
Among the many feathered visitors to Saltholme visitors can expect to see are lapwings which perform spectacular aerial displays, peregrine and kestrels.
Liz Morgan, Saltholme marketing officer, previously said: “We go to the far reaches of the reserve that people might not realise are even part of the site to show people there’s much more to us than just a little walk around the lake.”
Suitable clothing and footwear is essential. Mobility scooters are available but they must be booked in advance.
