HUNDREDS of people are expected to steam into Hartlepool this weekend with organisers of a popular model railway exhibition promising an “even bigger” show than ever.

Widely acclaimed and award-winning, masterpieces in miniature will be rolling into town for the Hartlepool Model Railway Exhibition.

The show, taking place tomorrow and Sunday, at Hartlepool College of Further Education.

More than two dozen layouts will be on display at the exhibition, while visitors can also enjoy a range of traders and model manufacturers.

Specialist demonstrators will also be heading into town to share their expertise.

The popular annual show is organised by Hartlepool Model Rail Group in partnership with the national publication Hornby Magazine.

Paul Bolton, member of the Hartlepool Model Rail Group, said: “Following on from last year’s successful move to the newly re-furbished Hartlepool College of Further Education we are returning with an even bigger line up.

“Once again, we are expecting a fantastic turn out.” Doors open from 9.30am-5.30pm on Saturday while the show will run from 10am-4.30pm on Sunday. Admission is £6 for adults and £4 for pensioners. A family ticket for two adults and up to three children is £16 and under five go free.
