VISITORS to a popular museum have the chance to step back in time and unearth a world dating back more than 5,000 years at a new exhibition.
The Mummies, Myths and Mosaics exhibition at the Museum of Hartlepool, off Marina Way, combines artefacts, hands-on family activities and recreations of ancient scenes to explore the civilisations of Egypt, Greece and Rome and their influence on the modern world.
As well as items from the museum's own collections, there are also relics on loan from a number of museums across the country.
The exhibition has been brought to life by decorations created by first year entertainment design crafts degree students at Hartlepool's Cleveland College of Art and Design.
The exhibition runs until Sunday, April 10.
Entry is free to the Museum of Hartlepool which is open every day from 10.30am to 4pm until mid February, and then from 10am to 5pm.
