BUDDING actors in Hartlepool and east Durham are needed as extras in a film being shot in the region.
Song for Marion, a comedy drama written by Paul Williams, is being filmed in Newcastle and parts of County Durham over the next few weeks.
Producers are looking for people over 16 and no acting experience is required.
The all-star cast includes Academy Award winner Vanessa Redgrave, Terence Stamp, Gemma Arterton and Christopher Eccleston.
Song for Marion is about grumpy pensioner Arthur, played by Stamp, who is reluctantly inspired by his beloved wife Marion, played by Redgrave, to join a highly unconventional local choir.
At odds with his son James, played by Eccleston, it is left to Arterton’s choir director character Elizabeth to try to persuade Arthur he can learn to embrace life.
Producers say Arthur must confront his own grumpy persona as he embarks on a life-changing journey of self-discovery.
Extras are needed for filming in Newcastle on Friday, July 22 and Tuesday, August 2.
