SUPER slimmer Laura Dalkin shed almost four stones after swapping greasy takeaways for ‘fakeaways’.
Laura, 23, loved nothing more than a night on the town drinking cocktails and shots and going home with a greasy kebab or curry.
She would turn to even more takeaways, sugary drinks and sweets the next day to cure her hangover.
It saw her weight balloon to 14st 7lbs and she used to burst into tears because of her size.
But after becoming sick of cruel name-calling like ‘whale’ and ‘tank’ Laura decided to do something about it.
She joined a local Slimming World group and was soon cooking up healthy parmos, pizzas and curries instead of reaching for the nearest takeaway menu.
Laura, who now weighs a svelte 10st 11lb, said: “I would go out with my friends and feel rubbish about my outfit, so I would drink to make myself feel better and then eat because I was drunk and be hung-over the next day, it was a never ending vicious circle.
“Even though I had always made a joke of my weight, deep down it really hurt so I decided to stop crying into my pizza box and do something about it.
“I’d say a massive part of my weight loss is down to switching my takeaways because that’s all I used to live on whereas now I love cooking - but I do still have takeaways I just chose healthier options and don’t have them every night anymore.”
Laura, who lives at Naisberry Park, Hartlepool, with her parents, has a healthy BMI for the first time years and now gets compliments rather than nasty comments.
She used to buy clothes size 16-18 and now fits in a 10-12.
She was so impressed with her slimming club that she has decided to help others do the same by launching her own Slimming World branch.
It launches at Owton Manor Primary School, on Tuesday, October 7, at 7.30pm.Laura, who is a supply teacher at the town’s Grange Primary School, said: ”I want to help others achieve their dreams like I have.
“Now I can go into shops without the dread of thinking all the big sizes are gone and only the little sizes are left because I’m reaching for the little sizes and it feels fantastic.”
