A TALENTED dancer is days away from tackling her next big challenge when she takes on a national competition.

Hartlepool youngster Bethany Alice Young, 11, will compete in the All England Championships which will be held in Manchester.

The competition takes place on Thursday next week and proud mum Claire Young, 37, said: “She will be doing tap, modern, ballet and song and dance.”

She said Bethany was doing really well and had recently won a title at the Northern Star Junior Song and Dance Championship.

That championship was fiercely contested and was held at the Southlands Centre in Middlesbrough with competitors from all over the region.

Claire, who is married to Jason Young, 44, said: “She had around 80 people in her section so she has done really well.”

Bethany’s sister Mollie, who is aged five, also dances at Nadine’s Academy of Dance.

Nadine said she was sure Bethany’s success in Middlesbrough would not be the last.

From the same dance school, another talented youngster Elle Sullivan is the new British modern champion.

The 12-year-old has regularly appeared in Dance Fever and last year won the modern section of the Durham County Championships junior category which was held in Chester-le-Street in County Durham, as well as the modern title in the NCBTA North-East Championships held at Jarrow.

But this year, she has become a national champion and that has delighted dance school owner Nadine who said: “She has been with me since she was 18 months old and she has won a lot of championships over the years.

“She just keeps going from strength to strength.

“I am so proud of her and she deserves all the success that has come her way.”
