THIS fine collection of festive pets are the latest entrants into the Mail’s annual Santa Paws competition.

We are asking readers to send in snaps of their animals dressed up in the finest festive get-ups such as Santa outfits, snowmen, elves and Christmas trees.

First up are Zacs and Zorro, two miniature Shetlands, who have been getting into the spirit of Christmas.

Both Zacs and Zorro are aged four and owned by Janice Forbes, the community fundraiser at Hartlepool & District Hospice and her friend Fiona Cook.

Janice said: “Zacs and Zorro love dressing up especially at Christmas time and showing off their outfits to the big horses who live with them at their farm at Greatham.”

Meanwhile, Gem, a wire haired fox terrier, has also joined in the fun with this fetching red suit.

Owner Courtney Shaw, 13, of Seaton Carew, said: “This is my dog Gem.

“She is a six year old wire haired fox terrier and this photo was taken at the Hartlepool Hospice Santa Fun Run in Ward Jackson Park.

“Gem is dressed as Mrs Clause. She is such a photogenic terrier with a positive attitude.

“She is always happy and we love her to bits.”

Leanne Hall, 39, of Airdrie Grove, Hartlepool, has submitted a picture of Bella - a seven-year-old springador.

Leanne said: “Bella just loves Christmas and as you can see she is waiting patiently for her Christmas presents and of course the snow to come.”

Last but by no means least are Kiera and Marley, submitted by their owner Wendy Douglas, of Owton Manor Lane. Wendy said: “As you can see I am Santa Claus and Marley is Santa Paws.

“He will be four in March and Kiera is a little Elf and she is about nine years old.”

Just tell us about yourself and your pet, including your name, age, address, animal type, and why you dressed them up and send a contact number.

We will print the pictures and crown one lucky pet this year’s winner. We’ve teamed up with Middleton Grange Shopping Centre to offer the winner a £50 voucher to spend in the centre.

Send your photos to Santa Paws, the Hartlepool Mail, New Clarence House, Wesley Square, Hartlepool, TS24 8BX, or email: mail.news@northeast-press.co.uk
