A TRADITIONAL Christmas market is set to be another cracker with plenty of festive fun lined up.
The event in Greatham is one of the highlights of the village calender when families and people of all ages gather on the green for some yuletide entertainment.
Volunteers who organise the annual market have been hard at work behind the scenes to make the day one to remember.
Attractions lined up this year will include stalls selling all manner of gifts, sweets and treats, such as homemade fresh bread, jams, cakes and knick knacks.
Children’s favourites Mickey and Minnie Mouse will be there to entertain youngsters, as well as Santa Claus in his grotto, provided by the Greatham Feast Committee.
Carol singers will help visitors to get in the Christmas spirit.
And lama-like animals alpacas will make a return appearance after proving popular last year.
Vintage cars will also grace the green and there will be lots of great prizes up for grabs in the grand draw, which will be drawn on the day.
And a top prize of £100 will help cushion the cost of Christmas for one lucky person.
A market spokesman says there will be lots to enjoy.
She said: “The Christmas market is always a fun afternoon and people really look forward to it.
“We are inviting everyone to come and join us for an afternoon of festive stalls and entertainments from village organisations and local businesses.
“Our message to people is to come along and have a great time.”
The market takes place on the village green on Sunday, December 14, from 3pm.
Last year’s market was hailed a big success and organisers are hoping for another good turnout this year.
There are a few stalls still available which are ideal for local charities or small business.
