OH baby – what a lot of beauties!

Cute youngsters packed out Headland Social Club for Headland Carnival’s Bonny Baby Contest and Table Top Sale. The event is one of the carnival’s most popular events with families and once again it did not disappoint.

The difficult task of judging was done by Eileen Britton, Janet Staunchy and Mary Fleet.

Saturday’s event was compered by carnival committee member Michael Gant.

The competition was split into three age categories for youngsters aged from birth to five.

First place in the birth to one year-old category was won by Annobel & Chloe. Second went to George Willow Kendall, while Kai Heasor took third place.

In the next group for aged one to three, first prize went to Lola Rose Atkinson, second to Liv Jiggins, and third for Thomas Hope.

In the eldest category of three to five, first prize was awarded to Preston Waites, second to Robyn Allard and third to Ellis Cameron.

A carnival spokesman said: “We had a fantastic turnout and once again it was very well supported.

“Every baby and child was a winner.”

A raffle raised £110. The first prize was an iced chocolate cake (green ticket 166-170), second was a clock (green 166-170) and third prize was a bottle of wine (336-340).

A table top sale organised by the women’s section of Headland Social Club for their own causes was also a big success.
