FIREFIGHTERS have been battling a blaze at a garage in Hartlepool.
Officers were alerted to the fire at the commercial property, in Lynn Street South in the town, shortly after 9pm on Sunday.
Two crews from Hartlepool Stranton, one from the Headland, one from Thornaby and a hydraulic platform from Middlesbrough attended the scene.
The 12 metre by 30 metre building was left five per cent damaged by fire, 30 per cent heat damaged and 70 per cent damaged by smoke.
Six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus managed to put out the blaze, with two jets also used.
Thermal imaging and positive pressure ventilation were used as well.
The incident was under control by 10.30pm and no-one is believed to have been injured.
