Fire brigade chiefs confirm there were no emergencies in Hartlepool during fire strikes

FIRE brigade chiefs have confirmed that there were no emergency call-outs in Hartlepool during the strikes earlier today.

A spokeswoman for Cleveland Fire Brigade said the town was “all quiet” between 6.30am and 8.30am today as firefighters performed another walk-out in protest to Government plans for pensions and conditions.

Throughout the whole of the brigade area there was just one call-out to a small rubbish fire in Stockton.

County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service also saw one call-out to a car blaze in Spennymoor with the rest of the area remaining quiet and without incident.

Both brigades said firefighters have now resumed normal service.
