FIREFIGHTERS freed a young boy after he trapped his leg in his bike in a bizarre accident.
A crew from Stranton Fire Station, in Hartlepool, answered the call for help in the town’s Bruce Crescent.
The boy, believed to be about six, got his leg stuck in between the pedal and the bike’s frame while he playing in the street.
Firefighters quickly freed the relieved youngster by using a crowbar.
Kenny Braham, crew manger at Stranton, said: “He was out playing when he got his leg stuck.
“One of his parents had taken a nut off the pedal but it couldn’t be removed.
“We used a couple of crowbars to lever it off.”
The incident happened at 7pm yesterday.
