Fire fighters tackle van blaze

Fire fighters were sparked into action by a van blaze in Hartlepool.

One crew from Hartlepool Fire Station turned out after a Vauxhall Corsa van was alight on Raby Gardens in the town at about 12.30am today.

Fire fighters quickly extinguished the blaze which in the engine compartment of the vehicle.

The fire - which destroyed the engine - is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault.
