Firefighters spend Boxing Day morning tackling huge barn blaze

FIREFIGHTERS have spent the morning tackling a large barn fire.

Five fire engines were sent to Blue House small holding on Stockton Road, at Newton Bewley, near Hartlepool.

It happened at around 3.15am on Boxing Day.

A spokesman for Cleveland Fire Brigade said the barn, measuring around 60 feet long by 60 feet wide, was destroyed.

Two fire engines remained at the scene at 9am today.

The fire service has not yet said how the fire started.
