A RECYCLING company has been named as official sponsor of some of the town’s biggest entertainment events.
Niramax Total Waste Solutions, which is one of the largest independent recycling and waste management firms in the North-East, has signed an agreement with Hartlepool Borough Council to support the authority’s events programme over the next three years.
The deal will see the Hartlepool firm this year sponsor:
l Spoo-Quay – the annual Halloween extravaganza at Hartlepool’s Maritime Experience, which takes place this year on Friday and has a Harry Potter theme.
l The annual Hartlepool Fireworks and Music Spectacular on Saturday, November 5, on Seaton Carew seafront, which also has a Harry Potter theme.
l Christmas Crackers, the ever-popular evening of family festive entertainment at Hartlepool’s Maritime Experience on Thursday, December 15, which will be part of a special Victorian Winter Festival that month.
Looking ahead to 2012, Niramax will also be putting its name to Hartlepool’s Diamond Festival – a major five-day celebration from Friday, June 1, to Tuesday, June 5, in honour of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Hartlepool Mayor Stuart Drummond said: “Hartlepool has an excellent reputation for the quality and variety of its entertainment events and a huge amount of creativity and planning goes into them.
“It’s great to welcome Niramax as official sponsor of these events, which will bring so much pleasure to so many people.” Phil Lennox, logistics director of Niramax Total Waste Solutions, said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Hartlepool Borough Council, bringing events to Hartlepool residents and visitors alike. Events such as Spoo-Quay, Christmas Crackers, the Fireworks and Music Spectacular and next year’s Diamond Festival are definitely not to be missed and we are looking forward to working with the council’s events team to make them a success.”
