Hartlepool hounds are gearing up for their fourth annual dogs day out.
Canines galore will be taking part in the Hartlepool & District Hospice event at the Summerhill Country Park on Saturday, June 29, sponsored by Pets at Home for the third year running.
A spokesman for the hospice said: “The event promises to be another great day out for dogs and their owners. It includes a sponsored dog walk around a 1.5 mile circuit,.”
After the walk, there will be a host of other activities including a dog show, with more details expected to follow soon. Entry is £5 per dog. People are admitted free of charge - if they are accompanied by a dog.
The hospice, based in Wells Avenue, offers specialist palliative care to hundreds of adults from Hartlepool and East Durham each year.
They can be living with illnesses including cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder, motor neurone disease, end stage heart disease and Parkinson’s.
It costs £2.3m to provide services. The hospice receives 34 per cent NHS funding, meaning £1,7m must come from local community and other fundraising initiatives.
