Four people were arrested after a car smash following a police chase through the streets of Hartlepool
Lancaster Road was closed during the early hours of this morning after the blue Vauxhall Corsa car crashed near to a lamppost.
Police began chasing the car in Brierton Lane, at about 2.25am after it was being driven the the wrong way through the streets.
Two women aged 25 and 21, and two men aged 29 and 20, have since been arrested on charges for driving while disqualified, dangerous driving and failing to stop.
The driver of the car was taken to James Cook Hospital for treatment.
A male also suffered suspected head injuries.
A spokesman for Cleveland Police said: "The blue Vauxhall Corsa went the wrong way down a number of streets. Four people have since been arrested."
