Hartlepool United will include Liam Donnelly in their squad for tonight’s friendly with Sunderland.

The centre-half is on trial at Pools after his release by Fulham and boss Craig Hignett has included him in a 20-man squad for the match with the Black Cats at Victoria Park (kick-off 7.30pm).

Donnelly joined Fulham as a youngster from hometown club Dungannon Swifts and captained the Cottagers in the 2014 FA Youth Cup final.

The defender made his senior Northern Ireland debut as a late sub in the friendly against Chile as an 18-year-old in 2014.

Donnelly, capped numerous times at youth and U21 level by his country, played 10 times on loan at Crawley Town last season.

Fans can pay at the gate this evening.

For Pools supporters, cash gates are available for the Town End .

Sunderland fans can pay at the Rink End gates one and two on the Clarence Road side of the ground.
