RAISING cash for charity was a piece of cake for pub staff who organised a “fantastic” fun day.
Dozens of youngsters had their face painted and a cake stall went down a treat at the Old West Quay pub, in Maritime Avenue.
Staff said everybody thoroughly enjoyed the day and helped to raise £150 for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Michaela Tipp, duty manager at the pub, said: “It was a fantastic day. We managed to completely sell out of cakes and painted the faces of more than 30 youngsters.
“We had a lot of families through the doors and a lot of older people who gave us donations.
“To raise £150 is great and we’re delighted.”
