FAMILIES are being urged to join in the fun at a host of activities being hosted by a popular country park.
Summerhill, off Catcote Road, in Hartlepool, is a 100-acre country park run by Hartlepool Borough Council.
The free Saturday family learning activities are aimed at giving parents the chance to work with their child exploring indoors and outdoors at the Summerhill site.
The sessions include:
• Make a heart for Valentine’s Day on Saturday, February 15, between 10am and noon.
Hartlepool Adult Education are holding the free workshop to give families the chance to work together to make a heart for Valentine’s Day using fabrics. During the session they will make a pattern, cut out the fabrics, sew it together using simple stitches. All materials are provided.
• Paint your own Flowerpot on Saturday, March 15 between 10am and noon.
Hartlepool Adult Education are holding a free workshop to give families an introduction into working together to paint objects for the home and garden. Again all materials will be provided but people are asked to bring an old shirt or apron to cover clothes.
• Make your own scrap book takes place on Saturday, April 19 between 10am and noon. Again Hartlepool Adult Education are hosting the free sessions at which families can design a fun scrapbook using a variety of materials, then using digital cameras, take and print some photos to begin a scrapbook.
