Enterprising Jade Rye is proving she has fashion all sewn up – at the tender age of 19.

Despite her young years the fashion-savvy Shotton Colliery resident and her company Fashionista.J.R boast a string of entrepreneurial achievements.

The former model has worked at Birmingham International Fashion Week, flaunting top designers’ garments on the catwalk.

She has also run her own fashion show with her own models, helping to increase the industry’s profile in the region.

Jade has also managed to secure contracts for Fashionista.J.R, getting luxury champagne company Maurice Vendome to exhibit at her own events.

Her company has landed 25 people modelling contracts, she hosts catwalk training classes twice a week and has even designed a range of swimwear.

Jade, who has been nominated for East Durham College’s Enterpreneur of the Year award and whose models are sponsored by Newcastle-based United British Caravans, said: “I’m really proud of what I’ve achieved so far.

“It’s what I’ve always wanted to do and I hope to have even more successes.”

She is moving to London in September to study fashion buying and events management at university.
