TWO vintage cars were destroyed during a blaze at a garage.
Two crews from Peterlee Fire Station were called to a wooden garage in Church Street, Station Town, where the vehicles were well-alight.
The Morris Minor cars were badly damaged in the blaze and the garage was destroyed.
A Peugeot 405 in the neighbouring lock-up escaped any damage.
The incident happened around 10pm on Tuesday and firefighters spent 90 minutes at the scene.
Steve McLaughlan, crew manager at the station, said the cars were probably worth around £3,000 between them.
Fire chiefs are treating the incident as suspicious and say police are investigating.
