GARDENING equipment and power tools have been stolen from a storage compound at a country park.
The thieves broke into the storage facility at Hardwick Country Park, near Sedgefield, while it was having its security updated.
The raiders entered the park via a farm track near to the Sands Hall roundabout on the A689, ramming two gates in the process.
After breaking the locks off five storage containers, they forced their way into two and made off with a petrol bush cutter worth £550 and a Husqvarna bush cutter worth £769, both marked with Durham County Council’s logo.
Anyone with any information about the theft, which happened overnight on Sunday, September 9, is asked to call police on 101.
