WELL done to Georgia Lennon who’s added another title to her already impressive list.
The 14-year-old from Hartlepool became the Northern senior song and dance champion last week.
She beat all rivals at the competition last Sunday which was held in Middlesbrough.
The success was warmly welcomed by Leanne Jeffries who runs the Northern Arts Academy side of the joint venture, the Elwick Academy of Dancing and Northern Arts Academy.
Leanne said: “She is one of our senior students and she has done really well.
“I was thrilled! She works so hard and is a pleasure to teach.
“Georgia takes her singing very seriously so it was lovely to see her receive the recognition she deserves. She was up against tough competition on the day so I was over the moon when they announced her as the winner.”
Georgia’s proud mum Nicola Lennon said: “We were all thrilled when Georgia won last week. It was only her second senior song and dance championship. She came fifth in her first one.
“It can be quite nerve wracking. To be honest we were just happy to see her in the final and were quite overwhelmed when she won, it was a lovely moment.
“I was so happy for her. Her dance teacher came up with a brand new song and dance for her to go into the senior section and it’s gone down very well so far.
“Georgia has been at Elwick Academy now for almost three years and is loving every minute of it! When collecting her winners trophy, the adjudicator told Georgia that she had the most amazing voice and performed brilliantly which was lovely to hear.
“My husband and I are very proud of her achievements and would like to thank everyone for the cards and messages of congratulations received.”
