A MOTOWN night is being held next week to raise cash for charity.
The Grand Hotel, in Swainson Street, Hartlepool, is hosting the event to raise funds for seven local charities which Hartlepool Council Chairman Councillor Stephen Akers-Belcher has chosen to support during his year in office.
As well as music from the group Miss Motown and a three-course meal, there will also be a disco and a tombola.
Councillor Akers-Belcher said: “Treat yourself to a great night of fabulous live music, wonderful food and great company – all for the unbeatable price of just £10 a ticket.
“At the same time you’ll also be helping to raise some much-needed cash for several local young people’s charities.”
The chairman’s seven good causes are The Belle Vue Youth Project, Central Correctors, Hartlepool Young Carers, Nurturing Young People’s Development (NYPD), The Phoenix Funsters, The Rifty Youth Project and The Wharton Annexe.
It takes place on Friday, September 14, from 7.30pm.
Tickets are available directly from the Grand Hotel on (01429) 266345 or from Karen Mason or Eileen Larkin at the Civic Centre on (01429) 523702 or (01429) 523704.
