Get help and advice on ‘hep C’

ADVICE on a viral disease will go mobile when support comes to a town centre.

Residents will be able to access confidential advice, support and testing for hepatitis C this Thursday, from 10am-3pm.

Staff from the Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust and County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust have arranged for a hepatitis C outreach and testing van to spend a day in Peterlee town centre.

People most at risk of contracting the disease include those who have injected or snorted drugs, people who have had a blood transfusion before September 1991, and the homeless. Results will be received within 20 minutes, and testing for hepatitis B and HIV is also available.
