PEOPLE are being urged to play their part and help out with a popular village fair.
The Friends of Elwick School group is hosting the festive event early next month, with all proceeds going to St Peter’s Elwick CE Primary School.
A host of stalls, children’s crafts and refreshments will be on offer at the fair, which is to be held in the school.
Organisers are asking people to kindly give up a few hours of their time and go along to the event to help out.
The Friends of Elwick School group is appealing for people to man some of the stalls and help support the school.
They are also willing to listen to people who may have their own ideas for a stall or activity on the day.
Jo Londesbrough, an Elwick resident and member of the Friends of Elwick School group, said: “It promises to be a great day and we are hoping to raise as much money as possible for the school.
“What we are asking for is people who would be willing to come along and help out on the day.
“It’s really good fun for everyone involved.”
The event was held for the very first time last year and the group hailed it a huge success.
This year’s fair will be held next Saturday, December 3, from 10am-1pm.
Jo, 43, a freelance editor who lives with husband, Derek, 41, a company director and their three children, Luke, seven, Emma, nine, and Ben, 12, added: “Last year was excellent and we are hoping for a repeat of that.
“We are going to have a whole range of activities on offer for families to enjoy and Santa will be coming along as well.
“Everyone is looking forward to it.”
Anyone who is interested in helping out on the day should register their interest at the Elwick Village Post Office or call (01429) 272216.
