COMMUNITY centre bosses are urging residents to come together to celebrate Good Neighbours Day.
People can enjoy a host of activities which are taking place in and around the Belle Vue Sports Community and Youth Centre, in Kendal Road, on Friday, June 3.
Children’s rides, bouncy castles, face painting, bingo, pony rides and information stalls are just some of the things going on at the fun day, which will run between 11am-3pm.
There will also be a climbing wall, complimentary therapies, refreshments, dog chipping and circus skills.
Many of the activities are free.
Gordon Larkin, manager of the Belle Vue Centre, said: “This is a fabulous opportunity to come and enjoy a packed programme.
“A lot of families are struggling at the moment but this is a good chance to enjoy a lot of free activities.”
The event will also give residents the chance to have a look at the new homes created at the new-look Belle Vue estate as part of a £12m regeneration scheme.
Good Neighbours Day will kick-off with the official opening of the new estate.
Building work is well underway on the site which will include 100 homes, made up of two, three and four bedroom houses and bungalows.
The show home will be declared open by long-standing resident Bob Farrow, who has been heavily involved in the regeneration project.
The fun day has been sponsored by Housing Hartlepool and organised in partnership with Hartlepool Borough Council, the Belle Vue Centre, Endeavour Housing Association and the Guinness Trust.
Meanwhile, there are still tickets available for An Audience with Joe Allon at the Belle Vue Social Club, in Kendal Road, on Saturday, June 11, at 7pm.
The former Hartlepool United striker will also take part in a charity golf day at Hartlepool Golf Club on Thursday, July 28.
And the former fans’ favourite will tee off at the golf day which will be followed by a presentation with a two-course meal.
Both events will help raise much-needed cash for the Belle Vue Youth Club.
The audience with Joe includes pie and peas and tickets cost £15 each or £130 for a table of 10.
The golf day costs £40 per person or £140 for a group of four.
