A YOUNG girl was attacked by two tracksuit-wearing yobs near a school.
The 11-year-old was near Lynnfield Primary School, in Grosvenor Street, in Hartlepool, when she was assaulted by a man and a teenage boy.
They pushed her to the ground and verbally abused her, but she was not injured.
Today police appealed for witnesses to the incident, which took place between 5pm and 5.30pm on Thursday, to come forward.
A spokesman for Cleveland Police said: “Police are appealing for information following an assault on a schoolgirl.
“The child was pushed to the ground and verbally abused, but received no physical injury.
“We would urge anyone who saw what happened or who knows the people who did this to come forward.”
One of the alleged attackers has been described as being aged about 30-years-old, white, wearing grey jogging bottoms, a bright red hoodie and a black baseball cap.
The second is said to have been a white boy, aged about 13-years-old, with blonde hair, wearing a black jacket, jogging bottoms and blue Adidas trainers.
