Girl hit by car outside primary school

POLICE were alerted after a girl was hit by a car before getting up and running away.

The incident happened outside St John Vianney RC Primary School, in King Oswy Drive, Hartlepool, at around 2.55pm yesterday.

Officers say the girl didn’t appear to suffer any injuries and the driver of the car rang and alerted police immediately.

A Cleveland Police spokesman said: “We were alerted of an incident outside St John Vianney Primary School.

“A girl collided with a car, but then got up and ran off.

“Officers are continuing to make enquiries and witnesses were at the scene.”
