Girl thrown from horse

A TEENAGE girl was airlifted to hospital after she was thrown from a horse on a beach.

The incident happened at Seaton Carew beach near to the golf club just after 3pm yesterday.

The 17-year old girl was flown to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, where she was treated for injuries, which are not thought to be serious.

Members of the Hartlepool Coastguard assisted the Great North Air Ambulance crew.

A spokesman for the Great North Air Ambulance charity, said: “We received a call of a 17-year old girl who has been thrown from a horse and we airlifted her to hospital.

“Her injuries were not serious.”
