PEOPLE are urged to save lives and give blood at donor sessions in Hartlepool next month.
The sessions will take place in the Town Hall, in Raby Road, Hartlepool on Tuesday, June 7, and again on Tuesday, June 28.
Sessions will take place from 10am-12.30pm and again from 2pm-4pm.
People aged between 17 and 65 who weigh more than seven stones and 12 pounds and are in general good health can become blood donors.
But for those who have donated in the last two years there is no upper age limit.
Darren Bowen, from NHS Blood and Transplant, said: “Blood has a limited shelf life of 35 days for red blood cells and just five days for platelets.
“Because of this, it is important that both existing and new blood donors come forward and donate regularly so we can ensure that vital supplies of blood are available for the patients that need them.”
