AN illustrator admits he has been “overwhelmed” by the response to his new creations with sales from as far afield as India and Australia.
Hartlepool-born Gavin Hall, who works under the name Hally Ink, creates caricatures of famous footballers by hand drawing them with pencil and markers.
It started as a hobby with Hartlepool United legends - Brian Honour, Joe Allon, Joel Porter and Ritchie Humphreys - but has quickly spiralled and now Gavin does commissions for people across the globe.
Gavin, who now lives in Tyneside, told the Mail: “Drawing has always been my passion and hobby however this has evolved into a business over recent months, due to the increased interest in my work.
“I have completed several commission pieces and my work is available in a few shops down south and I have had customers from as far afield as India and Australia.
“My style is constantly developing and I still continue to enjoy each piece I produce. I have been overwhelmed by the response from everyone including Pools fans and even the Poolie Legends I have illustrated,” added Gavin, who regularly visits town to see family, friends and Pools.
