Police are appealing for information after a suspected arson attack destroyed part of an allotment site in Hartlepool
The fire happened in Thornhill Allotments at the Wiltshire Way end, in Hartlepool.
The incident happened at about 1.30pm on Saturday, when fire ripped through the site, causing significant damage to the allotments.
A spokesman for Cleveland Fire Brigade said: "The service was called at 1.39am on Saturday to a report of an allotment on fire in Hartlepool.
"One pump from Hartlepool Station attended.
"The allotment was well alight when officers arrived.
"A storage shed was completely destroyed in the fire and officers left the scene at about 2.20pm."
