Hartlepool and East Durham is expected to see a mixed bag of weather in coming days

THE rain is set to hold off for today’s bank holiday according to forecasters.

The sun should even put in appearance according to the Met Office, but cloud is expected to roll in during the afternoon.

It is due to be another cool week for the time of year with top temperatures staying at no more than 15 Celsius, or 59 Fahrenheit over the next few days.

Tuesday will be mainly cloudy with little sun except early in the morning and early evening.

It is a similar outlook for Wednesday with more cloud blocking out the sunshine until just before it goes down at around 7pm.

Looking ahead, Thursday is predicted to be the warmest day reaching 17 Celsius or 62 Fahrenheit.

But showers are also set to put in an appearance that day with some of them heavy in the afternoon.

It will feel no cooler than 12 degrees Celsius or 53 Fahrenheit.
