Proud officials at a Hartlepool charity have handed over a cheque for £10,000 to help in the fight against cancer.
Money raised by the Miles for Men movement has been presented to Janet Leaf from Cancer Research UK.
Miles for Men representatives Michael Day and Kevin Hill presented the money and paid tribute to the public and sponsors who had made it happen.
They also praised the “team behind the scenes who always work hard to make things work.”
Kevin added: “We have big plans for 2016 and are looking forward to the challenges ahead. We have our annual Christmas run coming up, where we visit children at the cancer ward 4 of the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.
“Then we move on to the University Hospital of North Tees children’s ward in Stockton where we will be delivering Christmas boxes to those less fortunate who have to spend the festive season in hospital.
“So it’s all go for the team. We would like to thank all the people who have supported the charity over the last four years and look forward in our goals for the future.”
