A Hartlepool community group is hoping to bring people together.
Members of the Stronger Neighbourhood project will be holding a Brighter Brus event today for all the community.
The De Bruce area of Hartlepool was chosen as the first of thirteen areas in the town to bring residents and agencies together to make positive changes within the local community, as part of the Stronger Neighbourhoods project.
The project team got the ball rolling in August last year, when a group of community researchers had conversations with local people to find out what they wanted to see happen to strengthen community spirit in their area. The Brighter Brus event in October 2016 saw people and agencies come together, to share information and ideas about how they could work together in De Bruce.
Off the back of the event, the Brighter Brus resident group formed to take action on some of the points raised in the research.
Today the group will be holding the community event, from 1pm to 3pm, at the West View Advice and Resource Centre in Miers Avenue, where they hope to recruit new members.
The event is free to attend and will be suitable for individuals and families of all ages, with face painting, arts and crafts, line dancing, mini olympics and a free raffle.
There will also be advice and information available.
