Hartlepool crash update: Five year-old girl 'stable' and ten year old boy released from hospital

A five year-old girl is in a stable condition and ten year old boy has been released from hospital following a crash in Hartlepool last week.

The two children suffered head injuries after the crash on the A689 between Burn Road roundabout and the B1277 roundabout in Hartlepool on December 23.

Today Cleveland Police have confirmed the 10-year-old boy has been discharged from James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough and the five-year-old girl is described as being in a “stable” condition.

The incident involved a black Fiat Punto which flipped over around 2.30pm on the northbound carriageway of the A689 Belle Vue Way, Hartlepool, directly opposite Extreme Fitness.

The crash caused the A689 between Burn Road roundabout and the B1277 roundabout in Hartlepool to remain closed for a number of hours.
