A Hartlepool businessman is in the running for a top award.

Dan Robinson is among the nominees competing against the best of Britain at the Institute of Directors’ (IoD) prestigious Director of the Year Awards this year.

Dan, chairman and chief executive of Teesside-based construction firm Gus Robinson Developments, will be competing in the Small and Medium Enterprise category.

Daniel took over the business in 2012, after the death of his father Gus.

Dan has restructured Gus Robinson Developments with a clear focus on larger-scale building projects, particularly within the social housing sector.

Natalie Sykes, regional director for the IoD in Yorkshire and the North East, said: “This is a wonderful result for the North East region and clearly demonstrates that our business leaders are on the right track.

“We look forward to supporting them in October.”
