Bosses say the new store, at Anchor Retail Park, in Marine Way, will be offering big labels and designer clothes at discount prices.

Shoppers will be able to browse a huge selection of fashion and accessories for men, women, kids as well as the home as regular deliveries through the week bring up to 10,000 new items to the store.

TK Maxx launched in the UK in 1994 and now has over 300 stores across the country, with the Hartlepool store joining the franchise.

The chain previously had a store at the Highlight Retail Park near the marina, but it closed in January 2009 with the loss of around 25 jobs.

The store says opportunistic buying and a no-frills operation means TK Maxx can pass huge savings onto the customer.

A spokesman said: “We think that Hartlepool’s shoppers will love having TK Maxx on their doorstep.

“TK Maxx is a store that offers a huge choice of great value style, for the wardrobe and the home all under one roof.

“With thousands of new items arriving each week, customers will always find something individual and special at a great price every time they visit.”

“With several deliveries arriving every week bringing thousands of new items to store, there will always be something new and exciting to discover.

“The rapidly changing assortments create the treasure hunt shopping experience that customers love.”
