Teamwork is the key at a GP surgery which is hoping to lift a Hartlepool Best of Health award.

The West View Millennium Surgery in Hartlepool is in the hunt for honours in the GP Practice of the Year category of our awards.

We feel very honoured, especially as this is a nomination for the whole team. That means more to us. We are a very close team of 17 people from the GPs to the nurses and the nurse practitioners.

A string of nominations described the staff, at the surgery in West View Road, as “efficient. Relaxed environment and always helpful.”

They also praised the team for “doing their best to always accommodate you.”

Office manager Claire brown said: “We feel very honoured, especially as this is a nomination for the whole team. That means more to us.

“We are a very close team of 17 people from the GPs to the nurses and the nurse practitioners.”

There’s also a practice manager, office manager, two secretaries and administration staff and the whole team work as one to cater for 6,400 patients.

“The patients are number one and they come first every time,” said Claire.
